The Lusaka bus stop is a project I've made as a resident at my old school Luca School of arts Ghent in 2018. It's inspired by my experience of travelling Zambia.
The memory of the bus stop kept haunting me after I came home.
It was a place full of movement and chaos and I wanted to grasp the moment with a big image showing little things happening simultaneously.
The drawing is an A2 lino-cut print printed with a coloured back-ground. If you take a good look maybe you can spot Zambian Wally!
Everywhere on the Zambian streets you can let a photographer take your passport photograph. The photographers made their own little displays on the street to show their work. Together with the lino cut I've made my own pasfoto installation to carry with my when I draw people on the street.
